6 Things you can do With Your Computer or Laptop, Other than the Obvious

Remote SupportAs we shall be prove in this post, your computer or laptop was never intended to be just used for, well, only computing.  Ask The Pros

Our August winner is reader markey. He asked:
I am planning to dual boot Windows XP and Ubuntu 9.04, I have already burned Ubuntu into a CD and have also downloaded the ISO. But when I go to My Computer to start the installation, a different icon appears. I’m confused on what to click just to start the installation. Am I missing anything?

Our Answer: You can’t install Ubuntu from inside of Windows. You need to figure out how to get to your BIOS settings., which will vary based on your computer model. After you get to the BIOS settings, you need to tell it to boot from CD before the hard drive (HDD). Then, re boot the computer with the Ubuntu disk in the slot. Ubuntu will handle the dual boot for you. (Just be sure to defragment XP first.)
