My passion is computers. I can't help myself when I am around any computer. It is my temptation to fix or see how I can improve any computer. Just the other day, I was trying to fix a problem with a friend's Toshiba Satellite laptop.
I updated the software on the computer, I updated drivers for the Monitor / Graphic card, but it is still flickering. I am wondering if the screen itself is bad, as I tried changing the refresh rates, and it still flickers. It shows up lines and it is really bad when you move the mouse.
I thought of the setup that maybe the drivers was set up wrong, as the monitor type, under the Settings tab shows up as a standard monitor, instead of a laptop LCD. I tried to see if I could set it to LCD screen, but there is no setting for that available. The Windows XPro was installed later, on top of Windows Home edition by the previous owner of the computer. As the windows sticker on bottom shows Windows XP Home. But the computer has XPpro on it. I also noticed that the hard drive was formatted in the Fat32 format instead of NTFS. NTFS format it should be for Windows XP Pro.....The computer is a Toshiba Satellite, model 5105-S607
