COMMON SONY LAPTOP PROBLEMS WE’VE FIXED
Won’t Boot Up
- Laptop does not boot when pressing the power button
Whenever laptops start a program is launched that boots the operating system. After its launched the OS turns on all the laptops hardware. Occasionally Sony laptops won’t boot up. This occurs for two different reasons, the first being a problem with the boot program. Sometimes the boot program won’t launch the operating system which prevents the laptop from turning on. The second reason this occurs is because of the motherboard. The motherboard distributes electricity to components inside the laptop. Sometimes the motherboard won’t properly give energy to the rest of the hardware which will cause problems when trying to turn the laptop on.
Solution:Replace the motherboard, Repair the boot program
Display not Working
- Laptop screen looks less than average
Some users encounter problems with their Sony laptop screens. Occasionally the display will be black or won’t work. This occurs for two different reasons, the first being a backlight issue. Laptops uses LCD displays to manipulate light to show images on the screen. The source of the light is the laptops backlights. Occasionally the backlights will malfunction and not give out any light, which causes issues with the display. The second reason this occurs is because of a graphics card malfunction. The graphics card is responsible for calculation millions of tiny little dots on screens called pixels. Occasionally the graphics card wont work as efficient as it needs to which causes problems with the display.
Solution:Replace the graphics card, Replace the backlights
- Device will freeze
- Device will crash
Some users have experienced performance issues with their Sony laptop. These issues include freezing, and random shutdowns. These problems occur for two different reasons, the first being problems with the central processing unit. The CPU is responsible for calculating the actions performed by the laptop. Occasionally the CPU will not work as efficiently as it needs to which can cause calations to clutter. This clutter causes the CPU to become overwhelmed which can cause freezing and crashing. The second reason this occurs is because of the operating system. Occasionally the operating system will not give the CPU enough power which causes it to work slower. The new speed causes commands to build up which can cause freezing and crashing.
Solution:Replace the CPU, Repair the operating system
- When device is connected to a charger the device will not gain power
Occasionally Sony laptops will not charge. This occurs for two different reasons, the first being a battery or battery connection failure. Occasionally the battery will no longer be able to store energy. When this happens the laptop will no longer be able to charge. The second reason this occurs is because of faulty sensors. Sometimes the battery sensors will send signals to the operating system that tell it the battery is full. This causes the operating system to reroute power to and stop giving energy to the battery. When this happens the laptop stops charging.
Solution:Replace the battery, Replace the battery sensors
