COMMON DELL LAPTOP PROBLEMS WE’VE FIXED

Crashes Often

This occurs for multiple reasons. A faulty operating system, which causes the operating system to not load drivers that the laptop needs to run. The second reason this can occur is because of a malfunction in the motherboard. The motherboard helps distribute power to other components inside the laptop, which can cause components such as the laptop’s CPU to not contain enough power causing it to crash.

Solutions:Replace motherboard, Repair operating system

Won’t boot up

This can be caused by two reasons. One possibility is that the battery connection malfunctioned. This means that the battery can not distribute any power to  the components in the device. Which will cause your device to experience problems booting up your system. This can also occur when the boot programs that start the operating system is not working properly. When this happens the operating system will not start and this  means the hardware of the device does not start. When your device experiences this issue it will not start.

Solutions:Repair the booting program, Replace the battery, Repair Battery connections

Display not Working

  • Monitor may have vertical lines
  • May have dead pixels

Some users have reported their Dell laptop display not working correctly. This occurs because of a malfunctioning graphics card. Laptop displays are filled with tiny little dots called pixels. Most displays have millions of pixels and the graphic cards decides what each pixel is supposed to do. The graphic card performs complex processes in order to change each pixel whenever the screen would change images. However when the graphic card cannot do this it can result in crashes or lead to the display not showing anything.

Solution:Replace the graphics card

Freezing

This occurs for two different reasons. The central processing unit in laptops assist in calculating tasks the laptop needs to complete. When a task is to much or the processor doesn’t have enough power it won’t be able to perform those calculations. These malfunctions lead to frozen screens and other performance issues. The operating system is overworking the CPU at max capacity. It does this by performing other tasks as well as sending incorrect signals that need more power to function causing a device to freeze.

Solutions:Replace CPU, Repair Operating system

Overheating

  • Laptop will get significantly warmer near the battery area of the device

Whenever electricity is transferred and used inside laptops they produce heat as a side product. A device can experience overheating which can lead to problems like freezing or crashing. This occurs for two different reasons. The operating system delivers signals to the hard ware saying that they need more power. This causes them to use more energy which produces more heat. When a device has hardware that fails they will use more power to compensate for not working correctly, when this happens the computer can overheat because of the excessive energy being used.

Solutions:Repair the operating system, Replace motherboard, Replace battery, Replace CPU
